Age:  95
Born on July 14, 1919 in Selden, NY, the daughter of the late Elwin and Ellen (Sheehan) Mates.
Vivian was active in the Riverhead Senior's, Foresters, and Queensbury Seniors.  She enjoyed
needlepoint, crocheting, crossword puzzles and Scrabble.  She also worked for JCPenny for 15 years.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas M. Lacetera; her sister, Gladys Davis
and sister-in-law, Joan Mates.
Survivors include her son, Nicholas M. (Margaret) Lacetera Jr., of East Moriches; her daughter, Ellen M.
(Ronald H.) Kuhl Sr., of Lake George, NY; her brother, Elwin Mates, of Calabash, NC; two granddaughters,
Maryellen (Matthew) Byrne, of Blue Point, and Lisa V. (Timothy) Glasheen, Clifton Park. Four Grandsons,
Nicholas J. (Carolyn) Lacetera, of Islip, Michael J (Jessica) Lacetera, of Speonk, Thomas P. (Gavy) Lacetera
of Bay Shore and Ronald H. (Debbie) Kuhl, of Clifton Park.  She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call from 2 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm on Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Alexander-Tuthill
Funeral Home, 6447 Rte 25A, Wading River.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at
Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in Manorville.
Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Center Moriches, NY.
Vivian's family would like to thank the wonderful care givers to her at the end of her journey by
Highpeaks Hospice, especially her nurses Michelle and Beth.  We would also like to thank Hudson
Headwaters Health Network for all the time, home visits,  and exceptional care they gave to mom the
entire time of her illness.  Especially Lynn Keil, P.A. and Dr. Suzanne Blood.  We will be forever grateful.
