Waltraud (Trudy) Kizmann, formerly of College Point, Queens passed away on February 4, 2022 at the age of 83. Born in Ludwigshafen, Germany she immigrated to the US in 1961 with her beloved husband Julius Kizmann and oldest daughter Dagmar then only 8 months old.
When she had her second child Carmen a year after settling in the US, it was evident that she liked twins because she often dressed her daughters exactly alike. They even had the same haircuts.
Trudy lived her life devoted to her family and to the most import jobs in the world, that of mother and home maker. She put her heart and soul into everything she did. She made every holiday so very special even ones like St Patrick’s Day - and mind you there is no Irish on either side of the family. She must have known that her youngest daughter Monika would marry into an Irish family so she, as always, was thinking ahead and well prepared. She was affectionately known by most as Trudy or Oma, the latter being a title she cherished and was so very proud to hold.
There was nothing she would not have done for her adored grandchildren Sean and Kerry. She delighted in all of their accomplishment and loved to see how they carried on the creative talents of the love of her life Julius. Trudy opened her heart and home to all. She always had a smile to share, a kind world to say and a cup of coffee and something sweet to offer. Sweet is actually a perfect word to use for how many thought of her.
Trudy “Oma” was a devoted wife to her husband Julius Kizmann (deceased 2005), a loving mother to her daughters Dagmar Thalhamer, Carmen Kizmann, and Monika Mannix, a welcoming kind mother-in-law to her son- in-laws Robert Thalhamer (deceased 2020) and Paul Mannix and a very proud devoted and cherished grandmother to her grandchildren Sean and Kerry Mannix. She will be dearly missed and carried in their hearts always.
