Peter grew up in Levittown and graduated from General Douglas MacArthur High School in 1972. He attended SUNY at Oswego where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Arts. After college, Peter returned to Long Island and lived in Wantagh. He loved carpentry so he joined the Carpenters Union and became a master carpenter. When he retired, he moved to Georgia.
Peter loved spending time with his family and friends. Peter returned to New York as often as he could and especially enjoyed visiting his family there. He loved animals and had dogs throughout his life. Buddy, his yellow labrador, was a favorite. He enjoyed woodworking, political discussions, the music scene in Athens, playing Trivia, and volunteering at a local food bank.
Peter was a kind, thoughtful, helpful person. He was easy to talk to and always willing to listen without being judgmental. Friends described him as “very social” and “a gentle giant.” He was also someone who was generous with his time and talents.
