Michelle M. Bonura

Michelle M. Bonura, passed January 10th 2025 at the age of 72 doing what she loved. Born October 7th 1952 to loving parents, James and Nancy Roy, she often enjoyed shared stories of her wonderful childhood growing up in Adams, Massachusetts. 
Achieving academic excellence over the course of her career, Michelle was a loved and respected member of the teaching community in and out of the Sachem school district.
She was an individual of tremendous love and passion, an avid skier, dancer, golfer, and road racer. Michelle found the most excitement and achievement in her hobbies, earning accolades for her skills and physicality in dance and triathlon racing. However, these achievements came second to the love she expressed to her family. 
Michelle is survived by her children, Kyle (Carol) and Devin (Stephanie) Bonura, and her grandchildren Amara and Seraphina who gave her more joy than she could express.
She prided herself in the cherished memories that she created with friends and family throughout her life. Michelle will be remembered for sharing her love, bubbly personality, friendly smiles, and courageous spirit with all, especially her grandchildren. 
Visitation will be held Friday, January 17 at 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Alexander Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River.
