John T. Kowalski, 90, of Ridge, New York, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2026.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, to John and Edna Kowalski. John dedicated much of his life to education, inspiring generations of students as a science teacher at Regis High School in New York City and Hauppauge High School.
John was the beloved husband of Rosemary, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. He was a loving and dedicated father to Beth (Frank), Debbie (Larry) Joanne (Stephen) and Nancy, and to his late son, Tommy. He was a cherished grandfather to Frank, Amy, Skye, Kira, Nicholas, and Jillian, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He was predeceased by his sister, Pat.
John will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his passion for teaching, and the lasting impact he made on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, April 13, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM at Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home, 6447 Route 25A, Wading River, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Mark’s R.C. Church in Shoreham, New York., where he was an active parishioner.
Interment with Army Honors will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
