Gloria Jean Porcelli

Gloria J. Porcelli, 71 an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 3, 2024. She passed away peacefully at her home in Wading River, NY after a brave and valiant 29-year battle with brain cancer.  She was the devoted wife of Frank J. Porcelli for a wonderful 51 years. Gloria was born on May 22, 1953 in Queens, NY, the daughter of the late Charles R. Moravec and Gloria M. (Spitznagel) Moravec.  She graduated from Newfield High School in 1971 before graduating from Suffolk Community College in 1976 with an Associates Degree in Nursing.  She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2009, graduating Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Stony Brook even while undergoing her second brain surgery. She retired from St. Charles Hospital of Port Jefferson, NY after an accomplished 45-year career in Nursing, including many years working at an advanced level caring for patients in the ICU.  She was an active member of North Shore Christian Church as well as her prior congregations of Calvary Baptist Church and Wading River Baptist Church, serving the Lord in various ways. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Porcelli is survived by her two sons, Christopher F. Porcelli and his partner Matthew Cappuccilli of Jupiter, FL, and Daniel C. Porcelli and his wife Lauren, of Island Park, NY; and her three grandchildren Ava, Ruby, and Madilyn.  She is also survived by her sister Diane Stone and her husband Stephen of West Palm Beach, FL, and her sister Linda Blake and her husband John of Gilbert, AZ. A celebration of life is scheduled for 2pm, Sunday, November, 24, 2024 at Alexander Rothwell Funeral Home, 6447 Route 25A, Wading River, NY 11792
