Gennaro J. Simone

Gennaro (Jerry) Joseph Simone of Wading River died on October 11, 2021.  He passed away peacefully at his home. He was 88 years old. 

He was born on November 8, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY.  He was married to his loving wife, Dorothy , for 67 years.  They built a home together and raised their three children in Wading River, New York.  Jerry was a Director of Quality Control for Naval Air Systems at Grumman for 35 years before his retirement.  He loved to sing, play golf, and was an avid skier and adored his family.  He was very proud of his Italian heritage.  A devout Catholic, he attended Mass every Sunday at St. John the Baptist Church in Wading River and was a Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus.

Gennaro Simone was predeceased by his son William Simone.  He is survived by his wife Dorothy, children Christine and Gerald and daughter in law Michele Testa, his grandchildren Jeremy and Benjamin and sister and Phyllis Tramonte sister in law Rose and sister in law Pauline  he is predeceased by his brothers Anthony "Tony" and Joseph,and  brother in law Anthony Tramonte 

The family will receive friends and family on Thursday, October 14 from 2pm – 4pm and 7pm – 9pm with an 8pm prayer service at the Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River.

A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church in Wading River at 10:00am on October 15 with interment following at Wading River Cemetery.
