Elenore Anna LaPorta

Elenore LaPorta, 89, of Ridge, New York, died on December 12, 2022. “Ellie” was the daughter of Fritz and Anna Stockner and sister of Herbie Stockner. She is now together in heaven with her late husband, John, and son, Jeffrey. She is survived by her son, Christopher, her daughters Jennifer and Elizabeth and son-in-law, James, her grandchildren, Nicholas, Peter (fiancé Amber), Louie, Natalie, Julianna, and her great grandchildren, Slevin and Iswari.  

Ellie had an adventurous spirit and was quite the world traveler. She loved exploring Europe and our beautiful National Parks. She shared these trips with family and friends; memories that are treasured now. She had a love for the arts, especially Broadway, and passed down this love to her children and grandchildren. She was so devoted to her grandchildren and supported all their achievements wherever they led.  

Ellie had many friends and was very active in her church community. She loved the choir and her Wednesday morning groups.  

Her spirit and love of life will be greatly missed.  

Family will receive friends on Friday 4-8 PM at the Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home, 6447 Route 25A, Wading River.  Funeral Mass at St. John the Baptist Church, 1488 North Country Road, Wading River on Saturday at 10:00am.  Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale.
