It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of David S. Cannizzo. David was born in Bethpage, on August 21st, 1968, to Joseph and Karol Cannizzo.
Words do not exist to adequately convey the sum total of the life of a man such as David Cannizzo. We have lost a treasured friend, inspirational leader, dedicated teacher and coach with his passing. David’s passion, commitment, and convictions made him a truly unique individual who made a memorable impression on all he came in contact with.
David accomplished many goals in a life that ended too soon, among them was the creation and growth of a successful construction business in the most challenging environment of NYC high rise development. He had a lifelong commitment to coaching and volunteering in wrestling clubs and universities on Long Island, in NYC, and in Massachusetts. In both of those positions, or no matter how he came in contact with people, he was a selfless life coach to anyone in need of his practical and insightful guidance.
Most importantly he was dedicated believer and follower of Christ and his teachings, never missing an opportunity to educate anyone in need and help them find their own relationship with Jesus.
David’s friends, business relationships, employees, and wrestling community were all part of his “Family” and those relationships were critically important to him and he devoted countless hours to enriching them.
In addition, David is celebrated by his friend, life partner and soul mate, Valerie Pervova whom he was married to for 18 years; his older brother Andrew, younger siblings Dean and Shara, business partner and friend Jesse, as well as a community of loving and supporting extended family, and friends too long to list.
If you were blessed to have known David Cannizzo and would like to celebrate his life with us, please join us at the Alexander Rothwell Funeral Home, 6447 NY 25A, Wading River Friday October 21st…...
