Constance Jean Testa of Ridge, NY passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022 of congestive heart failure at the age of 86 surrounded by the four generations of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years Daniel Testa, daughter Cathy Testa and son-in-law Richard Ellis, daughter Michele Testa and son-in-law Gerald Simone, son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Andrea Testa, granddaughters Carolyn and Christina Carasiti and Amy Kitz, grandsons Cliff and Michael Kitz, David Anthony Carasiti, and Daniel, Ryan and Alex Testa, great-granddaughters Gianna, Hailey and Avery Kitz, Ryleigh Virginia Carasiti, and baby Kitz in utero. Born January 14, 1936 to the late Vincenzo and Michelina (Palmieri) DiCarlo of Brooklyn, NY, she is the beloved sister of Vincent (Yolanda) and John (Patricia) DiCarlo. She joins her brothers Dominick, James and Michael and sisters Rose Cucci and Anna Puglisi in heaven. She is the beloved Aunt Connie not only to her 20+ nieces and nephews, to whom she was known as the aunt who brought candy to the family gatherings, but also to her many friends and adoring fans. Connie met her husband Danny in NYC while they worked together at General Motors. They married in 1961 and started their family in Brooklyn, NY, then moved to Ridgewood, NJ where Connie made a warm and loving home for her family, which included making custom clothing for herself and her children, handmade Christmas ornaments and fabulous meals. In 1973, the family moved to Wading River, NY where she and her husband, with the help of her brothers James, Vinny, Michael and John, opened an Italian deli -- Uncle Danny’s Macaroni/Pastosa Ravioli -- where she, Danny and their children worked until their retirement in 1996. She spent her 26 retirement years traveling, caring for her grandchildren, dining with her siblings, and visiting with friends. In 2010, she moved into The Glen in Ridge, NY where she appreciated being part of a community of caring friends who look out for one another and enjoy getting together for happy hour and canasta. Nothing was more important to her than family to whom she generously provided encouragement, guidance and love. She will be missed dearly.
