Christopher Heil was born on April 26, 1966 in Port Jefferson, NY and passed away on June 27, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Alexandra; parents Jim and Arlene; brother Michael and sister-in-law Lynn and niece Sara; daughters Jillian and Janine.
Chris was a beloved teacher and administrator in the Mount Sinai school district for 30 years. His passions included: carpentry, kayaking, fishing, camping, spending time at the beach, and playing solitaire. Chris used his creativity and wood working skills to build decks, furniture and crown molding. He recently retired and moved to Scottsville, Kentucky with his wife for a more relaxed, rural lifestyle. Being the friendly and generous man he was, he befriended many people in the community in the short time he was there. He built a bark box for the Western Kentucky Schutzhund Club. He enjoyed going to the gym and out to lunch with neighbors.
Chris will be missed by the many lives he touched.
Memorial visitation will be at the Alexander Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River, NY on Wednesday July 6, 2022 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A mass will take place at St. Rosalie’s RC church at 10:30am on Thursday July 7, in Hampton Bays, NY.
