Catherine V. DiPierro

Catherine Veronica DiPierro (Kay), of Wading River, passed away on December 22nd, joining her late husband Anthony of 62 years.  Kay was beloved by her children Anthony DiPierro Jr. and Kathleen Hygom, their spouses Smita DiPierro and James Scott Hygom, her grandchildren Ryan and Lauren Hygom, and Moneika DiPierro- Sutton, and her great grandchild Noah Ingison. 

Kay was a most generous lady, whose favorite hobby was shopping for gifts, especially for her favorite holidays, Christmas and Birthdays, where she would overwhelm others with gifts. She was perpetually optimistic, feeling everything would turn out fine, and happiest when surrounded by family and friends.  She was fiercely independent, never letting her age limit her activities, and insisted on living on her own.  She was fastidious in how she presented herself, and her lovely home.  Kay was also known as the family historian, who knew how every close and distant relative fit into the family tree, and likely had a photo of each of them to share. 

A Catholic Mass will be held for the immediate family on December 28th at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church in Wading River, NY.

Interment will follow at  Calverton National Cemetery.
