Anna Lee Schwender, 92, of Waupun WI, formerly of Shoreham, NY, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at home in Waupun, WI with her children by her side.
She was a longtime resident of Shoridge Hills, NY where she lived with George her beloved husband for 55 years. Anna was a loving and caring mother. They raised over 10 puppies for the Guide Dog Foundation in Smithtown and were active Master Gardeners.
She loved to read, garden and bird watch.
During the Korean conflict 1953-54, she was a Navy Nurse.
She will be missed by her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Anna is survived by her son, Stephen (Jane) Chene, her daughter, Georgia (James Simone) Schwender, and her son, James (Becky Weber) Schwender; five grandchildren: Cortney Chene, Michaela Simone, Nicholas Simone, Dane Schwender, and Eric Schwender; and a dear sister, Marguerite Pennington in Goldsboro NC.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George.
Visitation for Anna Lee Schwender will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 1-2 p.m at Alexander Rothwell Funeral Homehttps://www.alexanderrothwell.com/the in Wading River, New York. Followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
