Ann Virginia Geraghty

Ann Virginia Geraghty, of Pinehurst NC, quietly passed away on the 11 of August 2019, at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Raymond Thomas Geraghty.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 5 children, Raymond and his wife Cynthia of East Berlin, PA, Patricia Cheperuk of Mastick NY, JoAnne and her husband Steve of Brandon FL, Gerard of Bayport NY and Mathew and his wife Patricia of Ooltewah TN. There were also 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and so much more.  She devoted her life to making sure that her family was well loved and took joy in doing everything she could to bring the family together for various reunions  and picnics.
She took on her battle with Cancer with the same "no big deal" attitude that she approached every challenge with.  Forever, faithful she remained steadfast in her belief that God would help guide her through this tough time.  She believed that there was something better to come, when she found herself securely in the hands of our Lord. With that peace in her heart and mind she orchestrated her final farewell family reunion and then returned home knowing that her own passing was near.
To this day she remains the solid cornerstone of faith, resilience and forgiveness that supports our family structure.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ann Geraghty be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
A Memorial visitation will take place for Ann Virginia Geraghty of Pinehurst, NC, formerly from Long Island, on Sunday, , July 26th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Interment of ashes to take place Monday, July 27th at 12:30 PM at Long Island National Cemetery on Wellwood Avenue in Farmingdale, NY.
