With grieving hearts, we announce the death of Albert R. Schryver, age 82, who passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025. He was the loving husband of Joanne Schryver (always addressing her as “My Dear”), dedicated father of Todd and Darren Schryver, and beloved grandfather of Diana, Neo, and Violet Schryver. He is also survived by sister Elaine Stattler and brother Roy Schryver, as well as his daughter-in-law, Alison Schryver. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Julia Schryver.
Albert (Bert) served in the US Air Force, and later went on to a career with Bell Atlantic Telephone, retiring from Verizon. He was a passionate outdoorsman and gardener, and spent much of his free time fishing and clamming, hunting, or tending to his yard, home, and garden.
Bert loved good food (Joanne’s Italian cooking most of all), traveling, creating perfect clambakes, his dogs and grand-dogs, and above all, his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and selflessness, and he lives on in the hearts of his family and friends.
