Robert M. Cianchetti

Cianchetti, Robert born in Brooklyn, New York on November 1, 1926 to Antoinette and Ralph Cianchetti. A resident of Wading River since 1971. He passed at 1:00 AM on October 18, 2019 in Village Walk Senior Living Facility, located in Patchogue, NY.  Robert graduated Lafayette High School, 1943 and Notre Dame University, 1949, where he played baseball. He was originally a Brooklyn Dodgers fan who later became a lifelong Yankees fan. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan near the close of World War II. He received his master's degree in social work at Adelphi and certified degree of social work from NYU. Robert became Suffolk County Director of Social Services, Bayshore, NY, under Commissioner Kirby, after becoming a social worker in Brooklyn, Staten Island, and then Director of Day Care, Little Flower Children’s Services, under Monsignor Fagen, as his second career. He is predeceased by his wife, Rose Guarino, who passed on October 26, 2009. He is survived by his children, Linda, Susan and Robert. Grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, Christian, Robert S., Meghan, Evan, Jackie.  Great grandchildren, Isabella, Christopher, Gabriella, Robert J., Nixon, William,  Slater, Millie, Elizabeth. There will be a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist in Wading River. A Burial will follow at St Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York. Arrangements are being handled by the Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home in Wading River, New York.
