Lucille Christine Mandala
It is with great sadness that the loving daughters of Lucille C Mandala (Nee DiBlasio), announce her peaceful passing at age 86 on May 20, 2018 at The Bristal in Sayville NY.
Lucille was a long time resident of Old Bethpage and by her own admission, “lived a wonderful life”. Lucille was a wonderful friend, sister, aunt and devoted mother to Lisa Johnson, Teresa Mertz (Dean), Christine Rodriguez (David) & Cara Palagonia (Jim) and Grandmother to 6 beautiful grand children (Trenten & Dillon Rodriguez, Brent Mertz, Erica Szabo, and Owen & Emma Palagonia).
Lucille held a Master Degree in Special Education and retired from the NY City Schools. She was a tireless volunteer devoting much of time to Madonna Heights while giving financial support to various animal charities.
Lucille loved travel, tennis, bridge, gardening, and cross county skiing.
Her rice pudding will be missed. The world was a better place because of her.
A Funeral Service will be held onat the Alexander Rothwell Funeral Home, Wading River NY. Burial to
follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale where Lucille will join her parents.
