CHARLES K MARTIN JR –War Hero
Chuck was a man with a mission. After being drafted and serving 2 years in Vietnam he returned for another tour with the belief that he could make a difference. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Army Commendation Medal for bravery after receiving a serious injury during battle. He spent one year recovering in St Albans Hospital where he began his life.

Returning home, he continued in the family's golf course construction business. He attended Stony Brook University pursuing his love of literature. His book collection is only surpassed by that of his movies and music. The spectacular garden he nurtured at the family home caused many to stop and admire. He also kept the bird population well fed.
