Richard A. Gibbons

Richard ‘Rich’ Gibbons of Ridge, NY passed away on March 15th, 2024.  He was 84 years old.  He was born in Brooklyn NY on July 26, 1939, to Rose Ziede and Joseph Gibbons and raised by Jesse and Joseph Gibbons.

Rich is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Gibbons; his son Rich Gibbons, wife Barbara and their three daughters Melissa, Rebecca, and Amanda; his daughter Cheryl Makoske and her two sons Alexander and Zachary. 

He worked as a Title Examiner for over 50 years and retired in his late sixties.  His next role in life was becoming ‘Poppi’.  He spent his ‘Poppi’ years loving and spending as much time as possible with his five beloved grandchildren.  Rich was an avid NY Knicks and NY Mets fan and never missed a game. He was one of a kind and will be missed.

A visitation will take place on Monday, March 18th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm at Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home, located at 6447 Route 25A, Wading River, NY.  Funeral mass will be held Wednesday March 19th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 10:00am.  Interment to follow at St. Isidore’s Cemetery in Riverhead.
